Mission Statement

To be the major voice of business in the greater Charlottetown area on economic issues and to provide services and opportunities for members to enhance their ability to do business.

The Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization made up of business and professional people sharing a common goal - the economic development of the Greater Charlottetown Area.

The Chamber's over 800 members reflect a diverse network of small, medium and large businesses from almost every industry sector and business profession. Through service on the Chamber Board, a Chamber Committee, or a Task Force, members express their views, direct and shape the activities and programs of the Chamber. The Chamber is financed through membership investment.

The Chamber accomplishes collectively what no business can do alone. The Chamber's primary role is advocacy. It represents its membership on issues affecting business and the community including: the provincial, federal and municipal budgets, economic development issues, infrastructure and transportation issues, and other areas that affect the members- ability to grow and prosper.

The Chamber provides a variety of benefits to its members including access to the Canadian Chamber Group Insurance Plan, attractive credit and debit card discounts, assistance with exporting, and a variety of opportunities to promote one's business.

Professional Development is another key service provided by the Chamber. Recognizing the challenges faced by its members in providing timely, practical, and affordable training for staff, the Chamber offers a variety of workshops, seminars and other programs of interest to its members.

The Chamber is also committed to providing networking opportunities for its members to enable them to grow their businesses by making valuable contacts with other members of the business community. People do business with people.

The Chamber has been a key player in a number of significant initiatives in our community including the establishment of the Charlottetown Airport Authority and the Charlottetown Harbour Authority. The Chamber has provided its members with a wide variety of training opportunities including an E-commerce program that enabled over 125 members to grow their businesses using technology.

The Chamber relies on its volunteers. It is through their efforts that many of the Chamber's goals and objectives are achieved.
