BIG CHANGES IN STORE FOR CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE GROUP INSURANCE PLAN®

For 40 years the Chambers Plan has protected small and medium sized Chamber members with “Best in Class Benefits.”  Big changes are always in place now to make the Plan even more competitive.

The following enhancements are part of the Chambers Plan for groups of 5 or more that choose certain health options:

• Paramedical services for Speech Therapy and Psychologists are increased from the previous level of $500 annually to $600 annually;
• Eye exams are increased by 50% to $75 every 24 months, and 12 months for children;
• Partial pooling of high claims – an underwriting change that could mean sustainable rate reductions of 10% - 15% for groups with stable claims experience.

One of the strengths of the Chambers Plan has been stable costs for groups of less than 10 employees.  Rate changes for all similar-sized Chambers Plan groups have been highly predictable due to the large pool of insured firms involved ….thus, stable rate changes across the board.

For Chamber members that investigated the Chambers Plan in the past, but chose not to apply, they may wish to investigate again as they may find the lower costs in this new program feature desirable.

The Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan is designed for small business and continues to strive to fit the needs of this critical part of the business community.  As the largest small group benefit plan in Canada, the Chambers Plan has continually evolved and provided options and benefits for their clients.  This is another example of the Plan’s strength and adaptation.
