Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as physical first aid is administered to an injured person before medical treatment can be obtained, MHFA is given until appropriate treatment is found or until the crisis is resolved.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary (QEHA) is holding a fund raising event - Pink Dinner - to help raise the $200,000 it has committed towards the purchase cost (in 2012) of minimally-invasive gynecological surgical equipment for use in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital operating room. This equipment will be a great asset to the QEH as it will help reduce not only the time patients spend in the hospital, but their recovery time as well.

Eligible businesses may receive a wage subsidy of 50%, up to a maximum subsidy of $9.00 per hour. Employers are eligible to receive this assistance for up to 16 weeks.
