“Bilingualism in Business Symposium – The Bilingual Advantage” planned for business owners interested in offering services in both official languages

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – Jan. 19, 2012 – Island business owners and leaders interested in learning about the value and bottom‐line benefits of offering services in both official languages are invited to attend the “Bilingual In Business Symposium”, being held Wednesday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Atlantic Technology Centre (first floor) at 90 University Ave. in Charlottetown. Admission is free and lunch will be provided.

Canadian Parents for French PEI and RDÉE Prince Edward Island Inc. have joined forces to organize this symposium in an effort to encourage more PEI businesses to offer services in both French and English.

“Participants are our symposium will be able to hear from a panel of guests – all Island business people who already offer services in both languages – who will be able to provide on-the-spot advice and assistance,” explains Gail Lecky, CPF’s executive director.  “We believe the symposium will be of great value to the participating businesses and ultimately help them to grow their business.”

“We will also collect information that will be used to perform a gap analysis to further assist Island business owners in attracting, hiring, evaluating and retaining bilingual employees,” adds Gary Doucette, the RDÉE’s executive director. “As well, we’ll provide presentations on services that already exist to help entrepreneurs make their businesses more bilingual.”

Please note the sessions will be held in English only. All those interested in participating must register with Gail Lecky at (902) 368-3703 by Feb. 24. Those requiring more information may call Lecky at her number or Gary Doucette at (902) 368-7333.
