The Government of PEI’s COVID-19 Business Adaptation Advice Program offers $2,500 in funding to Island businesses to secure cyber-related services as a result of a partnership between several local security firms and the Island CBDCs. The CBDC has teamed up with Cyber Island, Bulletproof, Cyber Force, and Rogue Security to create a comprehensive program to support small and medium businesses in enhancing their cybersecurity posture.
With the move to remote work, cybersecurity is often left to employees with little training, using phones and laptops that have not been prepared to defend against common cyber attacks. The bad guys are taking advantage of this uncertainty to develop COVID-19 related phishing emails as well as target healthcare organizations across the world. The volume of these attacks have increased in almost all circumstances.
Managed by Innovation PEI, the Business Adaptation Advice Program can be used to cover the cost of defending against these threats. The PEI COVID-19 Business Adaptation Advice Program provides a non-repayable contribution of up to $2,500 for organizations that are adapting to the new business environment created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
