The Prince Edward Island Restaurant Association is encouraging its members to wear masks while serving customers in accordance with the following guidance from the P.E.I. Department of Health and Wellness.
“… employees and employers who cannot maintain physical distancing while interacting with each other or with members of the public are strongly recommended to wear a non-medical mask if it is safe to do so while working.”
As serving staff cannot always maintain physical distance while interacting with customers, the use of non-medical masks or face coverings is strongly recommended.
Not only is this recommended to ensure the health and safety of staff and customers, this practice is key to supporting the ongoing recovery of the tourism and hospitality sector on Prince Edward Island. Restaurants Canada continues to encourage our members to implement the best practices in their COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Guide, developed closely with the P.E.I. Restaurant Association and Government of Prince Edward Island.
